This oval rock seems to have found itself in a precarious position. Living in the Sonoran Desert there are many boulder outcroppings that are amazing and gives pause to gravity.

“Wedged” is an acrylic painting down on an unstretched linen canvas. As with all of my abstract pieces, my signature is on the back of the canvas allowing you to display the art in any direction that speaks to you. Using an unstretched free-flowing canvas also gives you the option of hanging as a piece of fabric, matting and framing, or simply framing.

The oil colors in this mosaic are vibrantly beautiful and stunning in this large 36 x 36 piece. Each mosaic piece has several layers of oil worked into shades and textures. This was the first painting within The Series and has many fossils as well as nautilus’ telling a story of evolution. The canvas is gallery wrapped dismissing the need of a frame for display.

As with all of my abstract pieces, my signature is on the back of the painting allowing the viewer to display in the direction that speaks to them.

The nautilus is an amazing creature in that it is constantly changing and adapting to its own needs to sustain its life. It has the courage and strength to close one passage or doorway and open the next. A lesson for us all.

8 is my lifepath number and I also like the sensuality of the roundness which comprises its shape.

"3 Tone Blue Barn" ~ Amy Tuso

I few months ago I did a series of some barns that I found to be really comforting. I played with the colors and shapes and they became expressionistic.

My Russian grandparents were chicken farmers and as a child I would stay at the farm with them when my parents were busy. Grandpa had a working barn and when I think about it I can still smell the saw dust on the floor, the chicken feed in the storage room and the old tractor waiting to be called into duty.

My husband and I travel the back roads of the southwest on our Harley. While he takes care of making sure our journey's are safe, I am busy taking digital photos of the many old barns and other sites we pass. My imagination goes into overdrive as I wonder about the past of many of the abandoned barns and homesteads and greatly enjoy breathing some life back into the images on canvas once back in my studio.

"Healing Fields" Amy Tuso, Arizona Abstract Daily Artist

“Healing Fields” Oil Abstract With Emerging Hummingbird

There are times that I hear the name of a painting prior to putting paint to canvas. It usually will happen as I am visualizing the colors and textures I would like to manifest.This was the case with “Healing Fields” but over the period of time that this painting was actually coming to life it went through a change that surprised me on the final day.

I had an image in my minds eye that an abstract floating flower should be somewhere. However, as I picked up my paint-loaded brush to introduce this flower I had a nagging instinct that a flower was not meant to be afterall. Almost simultaneously with that thought process I saw this beautiful hummingbird appearing on the canvas. The hummingbird came together almost effortlessly along with a sense of calming.

In Native American culture, the hummingbird represents love, opening the heart to the celestial magic and as it sings its Hummer-song there is a vibration of pure joy.

Photography does not capture the layers of dimension on this blue oil on top of blue oil abstract painting. This was inspired by a walk around the lake one morning. I noticed how the ripples caused by bugs and ducks all merged together and became one. It reminded me that every action we take has multiple reactions as we are all connected.

While riding through the desert southwest and into beautiful Colorado I've observed many variations of HooDoo's and they remind me of the sandcastles that I once built along the shore line as a child.

This abstract variation of a HooDoo is a combination of a texture medium that I sculpted into the individual segments of the HooDoo and a blending of vibrant tones as if the sun was setting them ablaze.
